Antananarivo
Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, you will be greeted by an Ortour representative. Afterward, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and overnight stay at either Hotel du Louvre or Palissandre (Top), Hotel Chalet des Roses (High-Midrange), or Chat’O Park (High-Midrange) on a bed and breakfast basis.
Antananarivo – Andasibe
We depart this morning to Andasibe (approximately a 5-hour drive), also known as Perinet. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a park managed by villagers (VOI) to spot wild lemurs like the furry-eared dwarf lemur and Goodman’s mouse lemur, along with amphibians, chameleons, and a variety of rare palm trees and orchids.
Overnight accommodations options include the Top Hotel: Andasibe Cyperus Hotel or Mantadia Lodge, or the Mid-range Hotel: Feon’ny Ala or Grace Lodge, all offering bed and breakfast.
Andasibe – Palmarium
We spend the morning searching for some of the world’s rarest animals, including the largest lemur species, the Indri. Andasibe National Park hosts a diverse array of wildlife, with 108 bird species contributing significantly to local plant ecosystems. The park also boasts 14 lemur species, 51 reptile species, and 84 amphibian species. After our morning exploration, we depart from Andasibe and drive to Manambato, where we embark on a boat journey to Ankanin’ny Nofy. This lush region, known as Palmarium, offers more than relaxation—it houses a private reserve where lemurs thrive in their natural habitat. Visitors can easily spot 10 different lemur species, including the Indri, sifakas, crowned lemurs, black and white ruffed lemurs, dancing sifakas, and the elusive ‘Aye-aye’. In addition to lemurs, Palmarium features diverse flora such as orchids, carnivorous plants, traveler’s palms, and rare palm trees. Palmarium spans over 30 hectares on the shores of Lake Ampitabe. Overnight accommodation is provided in Palmarium’s bungalows, offering a high-midrange experience.
Palmarium visit – Andasibe
After breakfast, we’ll dedicate several hours to exploring the reserve before boarding our high-speed motorboat and heading towards Andasibe. Accommodation options include: Top Hotel at Andasibe Cyperus or Mantadia Lodge (Top) with breakfast included, or Mid-range Hotel at Feon’ny Ala Hotel or Grace Lodge with breakfast included.
Visit of Analamazaotra reserve – Antananarivo
This morning, we dedicate our time at Analamazaotra reserve to spotting various lemur species, including the Indri, the largest among them, as well as diademed sifakas, eastern woolly lemurs, and notable reptiles such as the Parson’s chameleon. We also encounter rare bird species. After the visit, we depart Andasibe and drive to Antananarivo for an overnight stay at Hotel du Louvre or Palissandre (top), or Hotel Chalet des Roses (mid-range), or Chat’O Park on a bed and breakfast basis.
